Mrs. Betsy DeVos’ Philanthropy Work Creates Opportunity for All

Philanthropy is one of the most rewarding aspects of anyone’s career, in my opinion. An individual who partakes in giving back to the community and creates positive impacts for all selflessly is someone who will no doubt be revered as a great individual. If I am to think of anyone who has given so much to individuals and asked for little in return, it would have to be Mrs. Betsy DeVos. She is a woman of many talents, and has defined herself by her philanthropist work that has created many opportunities for individuals in need, especially the youth.

With over 35 years of political involvement, starting off as a volunteer for President Gerald R. Ford, Betsy DeVos has spent most her life working in politics to help bring positive change to the world via Philanthropy work. Betsy, and her husband Dick DeVos, created the Dick and Betsy DeVos Family foundation in 1989 with the intent on giving back to the community. The foundation focused on arts, education, justice, community, justice and the arts. These items were of most important to the successful couple, and I think it truly defined them are selfless individuals, looking to create a stepping stone for those who wants to advance their lives. Mrs. DeVos has worked tirelessly to repair our broken education system here in the US. She is a chairman of the American Federation for Children, which focuses on education reform. The group fights so that parents are given the option to choose which public school their children go to. Under normal circumstances, their children are forced to go to specific schools based upon their zip code. Parents are not given an ample choice when it comes to education for their children, especially if the chosen school produces poor results via internal management of their facilities. I believe this is incredibly important for America, and I support Betsy DeVos in her fight to make this a reality for parents across our nation.

Mrs. Devos is no stranger to the education system, and has served on the board of The Foundation for Excellent, which has mentored many children through Kids Hope USA. The organization connects at risk elementary students with adult mentors through churches in their local area to help creates a working relationship that cultures positivity in their otherwise troubled lives. She has spent her entire career advocating for the youth in America, and shows no signs of stopping there.

From Philanthropy work to political advocacy, Betsy DeVos inspires myself and others to do the right thing. It is within the youth of our nation that lies the next generation of leaders. Mrs. DeVos believes that if we cultivate that positive connection between them, we can help shape America for the better when the time comes. I believe in Mrs. DeVos and her ideals, and support her endeavors to help those in need.
